How To Treat Very Dry Throat?

I have a very dry throat at night and sometimes during the day just after eating food I feel some irritation and dryness in the throat. Got it checked by a ENT and he found nothing. I have diabetes and take medication for cholestrol. Pls suggest what can be done to reduce dryness in my throat.

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The dryness in the throat can be because of the reduced salivary secretion secondary to any calculi or stone in the salivary gland duct. Nothing to be panic, consult an oral physician and get a occlusal radiograph and sialography to rule out the stone and other pathologies in the salivary gland. Once it is diagnosed we can treat accordingly by surgically removing the stone. Mean while for the dryness you can use artificial salivary substitutes like carboxy methyl cellulose. Drink lot of water.
I hope I have answered your query, take care.
