Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
Removal of IUD insertion should be done by an
medical expert. An
IUD removal would normally takes just a few minutes.
The process is as follows:
1. You need to lie on the exam table on your back. Your feet will be in stirrups as they would be for a pelvic exam.
2. Your doctor will insert a speculum into your vagina and look for the IUD strings.
3. Your doctor will pull steadily on the IUD strings. This would pull the IUD through the
cervix and out of the vagina.
4. Then your doctor will remove the speculum.
In case you experience pain, you can take Tablet.
Ibuprofen just before or after the removal, depending on the need.
If the strings are not present, then an
ultrasound scan needs to be done to locate the IUD and then managed accordingly for its removal.
Kindly consult Gynecologist in this regard for appropriate evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
