How To Treat Tightness And Stiffness In Knee Caused After Injury?

I met with an accident 6 weeks ago. A car knocked me on my left knee and I fell. The MRI showed huge collection of blood in the knee and it was swollen too. I also injured my left toe and have a fracture there. Recovery is good in the sense that pain is lesser and I can move my leg and all. Walking is difficult as when I stand the knee feels tight and stiff. The dr had mentioned drainage but after seeing me after 6 weeks he said that healing is good and swelling almost gone so no need. I want to know will I be able to walk normally and in how long ?
