How To Treat Swollen Ankle And Body While Having Elevated BP?

My blood pressure has been high and last reading was 151/107. I have gained 21 lbs since February which is not normal. My doctor has me scheduled for a Echogram on Thursday as my body and ankles have been swollen. It has me worried as there is thyroid and heart disease in my family. What is the best thing I should do?

Go for echo. It will rule out underlying cardiac issues. Consult your cardiologist for antihypertensive medications too. High blood pressure ,hyperthyroidism, and heart problems like dilated, weakened heart all cause swelling issues and all you are facing now.
