How To Treat Swelling On Nose And Top Front Tooth Pain After Injury?
My one year old hit me in the nose with her head. It was award hit. Upper nose. Left side is swollen shut. My nose itself does not hurt much but my top front tooth is killing me. She did not hit my mouth. Do I see a dentist or my primary doctor for this?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain as you are hit over the nose there is a possibility that you have got injury in the root of the front tooth which lies just below the nose and there might be fracture in the root leading to nerve inflammation and pain.. Nothing to worry, consult an oral physician and get evaluated and in case of root fracture extraction of the tooth has to be done.. In case if there is fracture in the crown portion of tooth, root canal treatment followed by post and core treatment or capping of the tooth can be done for relief..
As of now you can take anti-inflammatory painkiller IBUPROFEN for pain relief.. If pain is severe TRAMADOL can be taken as it controls severe pain..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
