How To Treat Stiff Neck, Headache And Itchy Hives?

My 19 yr old son has a stiff neck, a headache, and itchy hives on his upper arms and below his buttucks. No fever, but hives went away and came back today. He also is sensitive to light and his eyes hurt. He was inoculated for menengitis before starting college, but has not had a second dose.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Stiff neck with skin rashes may be sign of underlying meningitis most likely. Neiserria is most common cause for such issue in college students. He must be presented at an ER for the primary evaluation and further need of Lumbar puncture examination.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
