How To Treat Sharp Pain Behind Neck Radiating Towards Face Inspite Of Taking Tylenol?

I have severe nerve pain in my face that I thought was connected to my teeth as they are painful and raw gums, but saw a Dr. who told me it stems from my neck.....and gave me tylenol 3 and I am taking anti inflammories for neck and back pain due to an auto accident last Feb.....pain has been getting worse....feels like a pinch in the back of my neck....she says it is all connected....the pain is 10 or more.....I cant stand it

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sharp pain behind neck radiating towards face inspite of taking Tylenol . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons herniated disc , trauma , pinched nerve , cervical spondolysis , osteoarthritis and stenosis . I would suggest you to apply warm compresses to neck and do stretching exercises . Consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI and physical examination . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant , anti inflammatory and recommend physical therapy and particular exercises .
