How To Treat Pressure In Forehead And Chest Pain While Suffering From Sinus Infection?

Hi I am a 45 yr old hispanic female. I have been experiencing pressure in my forehead. It hurts to sneeze, cough, laugh and when I bend over. I thought it was a sinus infection but I took one round of antibiotics back in May when I first noticed it with no luck I didn t want to complain too much but it has been several months and the pressure is still there. I have had a CAT scan of the frontal lobe and the sinus it showed my sinus cavity between my eyes and one of the maxillary cavities was infected so another two full weeks of antibiotics and the pressure is till there. What should I do? I have thought about contacting a specialist. I feel like hopeless that I will have to live with this pain for the rest of my life.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pressure in forehead and chest pain while suffering from sinus infection. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, inflammation within the inner ear sometimes due to infection, head injury , fluctuations blood pressure, certain medications and due to cervical spondylosis, meniere's disease , acoustic neuroma , sinusitis and multiple sclerosis migraines . But in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are either due to sinus infection or fluctuations in blood pressure. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order . Doctor may order test like rotatory chair test , head movement test , posturography , blood test and CT scan . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxicillin or penicillin at least for a week along with antiemetic drug , decongestant and expectorant . For now take steam thrice a day and take anti histamine like benadryl . Avoid bending forward .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes,
