How To Treat Painful Umbilical Hernia During Pregnancy?

Hi I am 27 weeks pregnant I have a unbilical hernia I am terrible pain and the time can hardy walk and it always pops out do you think the consultant will allow me to be induce earlier as the pain is just awful and I also have a very active 4 year old

Surgical repair along with obstetric evaluation is the treatment.

After having gone through your history it seems to me that you have an umbilical hernia that appears to be stuck or incarcerated, meaning that tissue remains trapped in the defective area and can’t be pushed back in, it will need to be repaired immediately.

An incarcerated hernia is generally painful and requires urgent surgical repair. Hence, it is important to repair this hernia before complications occur. To redce pregnancy related morbidity obstetric services should be made available along with the surgical team.
