How To Treat Painful Rash And Discoloration On Hand?

Hi I did the salt and ice challenge and I did it on my wrist for a minute and after the challenge my wrist turned red and few minutes later it turned purple and it looks like a purple rash it hurts can u give me an advice how to heal it please and Thank You

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have painful rash and discoloration on hand. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like allergic reaction , side effect , result of sensitivity to sunlight , eczema or psoriasis . I would suggest you to wash your hand with cold water and apply petroleum jelly on it , avoid any cosmetic product , prevent it from sun exposure or take anti histamine like benadryl . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with anti inflammatory or antibiotics .
