How To Treat Pain And Burning Sensation In Lateral Sides Of Knee?

Thanks, I have pain on the medial and lateral sides of my knee. I cannot flex my knee all the way without feeling like my knee will break. Pain going into my quadricep when I flex far. It is unstable, has a burning sensation at times and keeps me awake at night from the pain. Feels better after ice. I think it was injured when my dog ran into me at full speed on the inside of my knee. Any ideas?
