Hi I need some consult I ve been have very painful cramps. I went for a scan a month ago and the found a cyst measuring 30*23mm in my right ovary. I went for another scan last week as the pain was still there for 5 consecutive days and the cyst now measures 39*35mm. Is there any need for me to be concerned? Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the ovarian cyst of 3-4 cm size with absence of abnormal echo-texture on ultrasound indicates most possibly benign cyst with water content without any systemic ill effects. My guidelines at present:
- Do not panic as it is curable 100%
- Manage to have regular menstruation (ovulation is vital for cyst dissolution)
- If needed get prescription of combined hormone contraceptive for rapid resolution
Be in regular follow up with your OBGYN for best possible guidelines and cure accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
