How To Treat Irritation And Pus From Crowns Of Teeth?
I have 2 crowns in my Upper Right side of my mouth . The two last back teeth. Recently I have been experiencing pussing and a bad odor from those two crowns and also felt like a sizzling sensation . I feel they are infected I went to my dentist and she cleaned the area and gave me a mouth wash. It is now two months later and I feel it has gotten worse. What is the problem & why wouldn t she receive the crowns and clean the area fully?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain pus discharge and bad smell from the area from where you had crowns placed seems to be most probably due to re-infection in either one or both of the teeth that are crowned.. Only cleaning the area and using the mouthwash cannot alone resolve the problem and as the time passes off the infection and discomfort will keep on increasing.. I would suggest you to consult an Endodontist and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and x ray of the area.. In case if there is infection in the teeth root canal treatment followed by antibiotics and painkillers will help.. A deep scaling and curettage along with gum paint massage has also to be done daily for relief..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
