How To Treat How Blood Pressure?

My mom has had high blood pressure that is not under control She use to take Avapro and now is on Norvasc. Been to the hospital twice in week and BP is back up to like 178/95 approx., about every 6 hours. Very very lethargic, eyes look sickly, Nauseas, swelling in feet and stomach, headaches, only can sleep in recliner now. EKG, Catscan, Blood work all normal. Urine only trace of blood. Fell 3 weeks ago, had contusion and staples. Sodium level 2 months ago was down to 120. Now at 130. Can t hardly eat anything due to nausea. She feels so bad- she is losing hope. She is 75 was always active up until about 3 months ago and did circles around me. She does have anxiety. I don t know what to do for her and the hospitals send her home. I even begged the dr yesterday to keep her in and observe over night. Would the drug clonidine help her. Im taking her to neurologist on Monday and cant get into the Cardiologist until Wed. I want to help her and know something is really wrong. She can t drive, go anywhere.Any advice?

I am very sorry for your problems . As described by you she is diagnosed case of hypertension . Now she has every feature suggestive of heart failure such as nausea fatigue swelling over abdomen and feet breathlessness and only able to sleep on recliner.in my suggestions you consult your physician. her echocardiography is must to be done for assessing cardiac function. Hypertension is very important factor for heart failure . This should be treated to normal level.their are so many antihypertensive that can be prescribed . But every prescription require a specialist . Plz don't loose hope .people with heart dysfunction survive if treated properly . Hope this will help.
