Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain
black hairy tongue causes a brownish to black coating over the tongue and it is commonly due to entrapement of food debris and dead cells over the tongue papillae as well overgrowth or papillae which entraps more of debris along with overgrowth of bacteria and fungus..
Black hairy tongue is a not a harmful condition and proper maintenance of
oral hygiene can help in gradually cleaning the tongue..
You can use a tongue scraper to clean your tongue..
You can dip a soft toothbrush in 1:1 solution of
hydrogen peroxide and water and gently clean your tongue..
Add more of raw fruits and vegetables in your diet as they help in periodic sheding of the papillae and prevent their overgrowth..
Limit the intake of tea, coffee, do not smoke and take alcohol..
Do not rely only on
soft diet..
Drink plenty of water..
The inflamed papillae at the back of tongue can be due to a few conditions like Oral infections,
acid reflux,
throat infection etc..
You can do warm saline gargles, can take OTC anti-inflammatory medicine like
Ibuprofen and suck on ice cubes as it will help in reducing inflammation as well as pain..
If you do not find improvement in a week consult an Oral Physician and get a checkup done..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
