How To Treat Elevated Blood Sugar Level?

I found out friday that my blood sugar was a little high and was given a script to get a test meter. Testing 2 times a day, in the morning and 2 hrs after dinner, Morning numbers have been 115 - 117, checked it last night for the first time and it was 148 after 2 hrs and 116 after 6 hrs from dinner. Is that normal?

Diabetologist 's  Response
Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.

For people with diabetes, blood sugar level targets are as follows:
Before meals: 2 hrs After meals: under 140 mgl/dL

The value you have mentioned are slightly higher to normal. The values are considered to be pre -diabetic if they occur more than a couple of times.

HbA1c value which shows sugar value of past 3 months should be under 6-5%

Hope this guides you. For any other queries you can write to us. we will be happy to help you. Thank you.
