How To Treat Diarrhoea, malaise And Severe With Fever?

19 yo male with diarrhea, severe chills, fever, headache. Was outside skateboarding in the heat this afternoon. Also had a sub sandwich from the shop -- we noticed they were cleaning deli cases and mayo could have been left out. Symptoms developed about 4 hours after eating.I gave him 1 liter of powerade, 2 tylenol. Symptoms have subsided, but he complains of sensitive skin, and has red, bloodshot eyes and malaise.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of having food poisoning with other symptoms of allergy like
sensitive skin, and has red, bloodshot eyes and malaise.
I would advise him the following:
Rush to ER as there is chance of him going into gram negative septicemia.
He needs urgent clinical evaluation, examination, resuscitation and treatment with intravenous fluids, intravenous antibiotic, check the blood, urine and stool to have the clear clinical picture to help him out fully to avoid further complications.
I find this answer helpful
