How to treat cold with left side jaw pain and ear wax build up?

Hello, I currently have a cold with a lot of drainage going on. Yesterday I woke up with left side jaw pain when opening my mouth and it is sore to the touch at the jaw joint - beside my ear. I tend to have wax build up in that ear. Any suggestions? Thanx

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of cold with left side jaw pain and ear wax build up which seems to be due to sinusitis and middle ear infection. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist once for proper diagnosis and to rule out causes like TMJ pain. Doctor may order MRI or CT scan to confirm the diagnosis. You should take ibuprofen and acetaminophen for pain. Put otogesic ear drops. Tak eproper course of antibiotic and anti-inflammatory drugs. Avoid touching and pricking it with any sharp object.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
