Respected Sir,

This is to inform you that I suffered from Chicken pox 2 years ago, after it was recovered i had dark patches over my Forehead and cheeks and neck. It made me look as if i have attained a black skin over my face. I consulted many doctors but was in vain Atlast i COnsulted the Dermatologist in Jipmer SHe gave me Cream COnsisting of Kojic Acid and Vitamin C. I started using it for two months literally there was a very little improvement. But then i went on myself to hydroquinone cream(HYdroquinone + Tretinoin + Molasmate Fuorate) Wonder as if my skin turned very lightened in 3 weeks but with disadvantages with skin irritation, red pimples over face. So I stopped using it but my all brown patches reappeared noe with the same dull colour, What should I do now Which cream should I use again to regain my Original Colour Kindly Help......

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns.

As per your complain you have a problem of dark patches over the forehead, cheeks and neck..
It is due to hyperpigmentation caused due to chicken pox and the medication advised to you by the Dermatologist was appropriate as Kojic acid is a plant extract and will not cause side effects..
Steroid based cream that you used have side effects and occurs commonly after usage for long term and at times short term use can also cause harmful effects..
Another drawback of steroid creams is relapse of symptoms once the use is stopped..
I would therefore suggest you to start washing face with Salicylic acid and glycolic acid containing facewash...
You can apply cream containing Kojic acid, glycolic acid, arbutin..
You can also apply azelic acid containing creams..
Vitamin E gel or lotion can help.
Exfoliate our skin twice a week with a gentle scrub..
Limit sun exposure and apply sunscreen lotion when exposed to sun..
You can also go for photofacial, microdermabrasion and chemical peels..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
