How To Treat Burning Sensation On Skin Due To Splash Of Hot Wax?

I had hot wax straight from the microwave splash on my finger 2 nights ago. I took 3 steps to the sink to wash off wax and my skin, the size of a pinto bean, sloughed off. I now have a concave area. Do I continue to keep using burn cream and bandaids or begin using triple antibiotic ointment?

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain First degree burns are not to be worried as they heal themselves in a few days without causing any complication..

In case of burning feeling you can apply steroid based cream like Hydrocortisone cream to reduce inflammation and pain..

In case of pain you can take over the counter anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen to relieve pain..

Application of ice packs can be done but ice should be not applied directly over the burn area.

You should avoid any vigorous scrubbing or soap application in the burn area..

Avoid water exposure and try to keep the area clean to avoid infections..

You can keep the area covered by using dry sterile bandage.

In a few days the lesion will gradually heal..

Hope your query is solved..
