How To Treat Blood Sugar - 350 And Fasting Sugar Level - 500?

Hi...My grandma s is 80 - since last 2 days her blood sugar is measuring in the range of 350 fasting and 500 (2 hrs post lunch) - she is on a trip right now and has to travel tomorrow to get back home - is there something we should be giving her right away or can she wait to see a doctr when she gets home? She has no history of high blood sugar and presently only suffering from frequent thirst and frequent urination. PLease help

Dear user, blood sugar of 500 mg/dl is very high , specially for her age. you must not allow her to travel in such condition. still if urgent, start metformin 500 mg twice a day, glimeperide 2 mg twice a day. ask her to have lots and lots of fluids. water, milk, butter milk, soups, coconut water. see your doctor at the earliest. regards!
