Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi,We understand your concern.

I congratulate you on quitting drugs,And i also appreciate your effort in maintaining abstinence years.

Injection site infections are very common among drug abusers because of unsterile techniques.Abscess formation at the site of injection indicates severe long standing infection. It will need incision and drainage, Hence i would suggest you to consult a doctor. He would also ask you to get culture and sensitivity test of pus which has been drained and prescribe you oral as well as local antibiotic to control infection.

If you are having craving for drugs, there are plenty of anti craving medications available.Consult a psychiatrist for the medications.

Hope the answer has helped you.
