How To Treat Allergic Reaction To Pertussis Vaccine?

Hi. I went to the doctor recently and was given sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim, but I am allergic to The pertussis vaccine and am having an allergic reaction resulting in extreme swelling of the forehead and the areas around my eyes. I ve stopped taking the medication, is there anything I can do to stop this reaction?

Hello,

Just stop the emdication and atart some antiallergic medication like Antihistamines . You can also take a steroid shot at the ER.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Dr. Harshita
