How To Treat A Bunion Causing Pressure On The Left Foot In The Elderly?

hello, I am 66 yr very active woman, I have always had a bunion on my left foot, now it is causing the big toe to push against the 2nd toe, I usually do not have any pain when walking, exercising, etc., but seems like all of a sudden, the top of my foot is more prominent on that foot and it is painful to walk, it causes me to favor that foot and I tend to limp, it pulsates at night , its tolerable but I know there is something wrong...

Hi,

A pulsating mass is unlikely to be a bunion. An ultrasound will identify a pulsatile mass and helps in diagnosis. If it is bunion, you can get it removed by a surgeon. leaving it not treating will result in limping which puts undue pressure in other areas of limb resulting in deformities. I would suggest you to get a surgical consultation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
