Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Yes, ulcerative colitis may be difficult to treat although there is a wide range of treatment methods. AS I see, you have antibiotic and antiifnlammatory therapy with mesalazin which is used in combination with steroid or azatrioprin if necessary. So this is next step to include steroids. As a last medical therapy, there is a option of including biological therapy with Humira which is more expensive but more efficient. If this is not helpful then I am afraid that surgical resection is only option in intractable cases, but on the other side, this is permanent solution.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.
