How To Remove A Scar Medically?

I am 36 and have had a large dark spotty mole that on my butt. It' s about 2 inches and it looks smeared. I've had it checked in the past and was told it's not a concern medically but i hate it and want it removed. Would that be a smart decision or will the scar be worse?

Hi,

As you said you have a type of mole and it is nevocytic nevus...more probably compound melanotic nevus. Do not worry. The condition is benign and may be treated easily. It may be kept untreated. If it is embarassing, you may go for electrocautery done under local anaesthesia. There may be very mild scar, that can be revised after few months. There may be the chances to develop malignant melanoma and that is why, excision of the nevus is good dicision. I hope you got my answer. I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
