How To Reduce Weight After Recovering From TB Meningitis?

Hello doc.... i recently suffered from.. tb meningitis. . Wer I got drug resistance so I had to take steroids. . I lost 20 kgs in few months. . Post my medicines I gained 25 kgs extra. Now iam 98.. the problem is iam unable to reduce my weight.. how much ever I sweat bad no difference it makes.. my medication to meningitis is over. Any suggestions 4 me pls...

Thank you for your question. I am Dr Asanghanwa Carlson. I must let you know a major side effect of the steroids is weight gain. However this is usually resolved in the months following cessation of the treatment. This can be achieved through a controlled diet and rigourous exercise. I would advice you avoid lots of fatty foods and also eat balanced meals three times a day alongside regular exercise for at least 30 minutes three times weekly. You could consult a dietician for appropriate meals. Good luck
