How To Reduce Pain And Swelling In Knee?

I went into a feet first slide in softball. I hit the bag hard with my leg that was bent. I have some swelling and the inside of my leg at the knee is tender. There is no brusing and the knee feels stable except to pain on the inside of the knee. What could i do to help relieve some of the discomfort?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I advise not to move the knee for a few more days until improvement. Apply cold compresses until the third day. Then from the third day forward, apply alternating warm and cold compresses locally. Applying analgesic cream can also relieve the pain. If no improvement, you should see an orthopedic specialist.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
