General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I understand your concerns.

There are various factors causing pain and itching sensation in anus including:
- hemorrhoids especially if you suffered of constipation recently
- intestinal parasites
- candida infection

Although you do not like that the doctor would touch your anus, local examination by proctologist is highly advised to determine if you have external/internal hemorrhoids. Anoscopy will also be of help.

Next, examination of stool for ova/parasites and culture of feces for candida would help rule out intestinal parasite and candida respectively.

For the moment, I advise to:
- keep the local area well cleaned
- wash with warm water and soap
- rinse well, dry it well
- apply hydrocortisone cream locally

Once you run the above-mentioned tests and get the results, specific treatment will be prescribed.

All the best!
