How To Prevent Pregnancy After Having Unprotected Sex?

Hi doctor, we dont want children now. we had sex on the 15th day from her period date unfortunately. unsafe sex..I tried withdrawal method. Not sure that its success or not. But we have doubt about her periods for this time. how to stop from getting conceived. My wife is not sure that she will get her period this time. What to do? Please help...

I understand your concern.
15th day of her period is high risk of getting pregnant as it is during her fertile period.
Withdrawal method doesn't assure good protection against pregnancy and the failure rate is quite high.
Hence the best possible way to protect against getting pregnant is to use emergency contraceptive pill (morning after pill) within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. In fact, earlier it is taken, it has better efficiency in protection. If this is taken, it will protect from becoming pregnant by causing breakthrough bleeding within 3 weeks from the day of consuming the pill.
In case time has run out to try emergency contraception, then you need to wait till she gets her regular periods.
If her periods are delayed, there is a possibility of pregnancy, which can be confirmed by urine pregnancy test.
If it is positive, the only option left over and safest way is to go for abortion by use of pills (within 12 weeks of gestation), strictly under medical advise and supervision.
