How To Prepare For A Colonoscopy?

I have been given an appointment to come for a colonoscopy and they didn t give me any instructions on what I would have to do beforehand. They just said to come thirty minutes early. Will be I be given any instructions before my appointment? I was not aware of all the procedures for they take the test.

Hello,

Before appointment hospital staff will give you instructions for a colonoscopy procedure. One or two days before the colonoscopy, empty colon by laxative or enema kit. Before the procedure, only semisolid diet and fruit juice are taken. Solid food should be restricted. Avoid excess spicy foods. Inform about all medication that you are taking before this procedure.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
