General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi there,

I am sorry that you are going through some difficult times. Depression can be caused by many different reasons either physical issues or only psychological. To make sure , you are not having anything physically going on it's a good idea to check basic blood tests especially thyroid, iron levels, blood sugar, lipid levels and basic liver and kidney function tests. And also, being a professional chances of you having burn out due to excessive stress or work at profession needs to be looked at. moreover, it's good idea to seek counselling. IF you are really stressed and feeling suicidal please seek urgent help wherever you are. Hope this helps.
