Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
This type of bone injuries causes severe damage to ligaments and bone. As you are saying that there is no fracture yet bone bruising and ligament damage is possible. At present my advice to you is take bed rest, avoid keeping your foot in hanging position or standing for long time. Also i hope you are taking pain killers. As far as bluishness of your toes concern it will improve slowly. I would also advice you to keep your foot in gentle warm water. If your symptoms do not improved than get MRI of your ankle.
