How To Get Rid Of Clogged Ears Causing Severe Ear Pain?
Both my ears have been a little blocked for the past two days. I have to pull on the earlobe to hear better. Infant, my right ear started to experience pain in the past week. Now every time I burp, there is shooting pain up my ear. Now there is a gooey red substance that is being pushed out of my ear that smells pretty bad. What on earth is going on ?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of clogged ears causing severe ear pain which is due to accumulation of fluid in the middle ear leading to otitis media and it could be due to eustachian tube dysfunction.
I would suggest you to - Perform valsalva maneuvers i.e try to blow out through nose. - Keep your ears dry and cover them while bathing. - Avoid pricking ear. - Apply heating pad on external ear 2-3 times a day. - Close your nostrils drink water and swallow, it will help in your symptoms.
You should consult ENT specialist again for proper examination and get it examined with otoscope and audiometry testing. Doctor will clean the ear to remove ear wax and prescribe antibiotics for 5 days.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
