How To Get Rid From Cough?

Hi, I am Vikas, My father got suffered with serious cough problem, he informed heart pain and felt some heart jam today’s afternoon and now he is hospitalized as per Doctor’s advised. He suffered from Cough since a month. Looking for advice here – how to get rid from Cough ?

Hi thanks for contacting HCM...

Here cause for cough has to be searched for accordingly treated ....

The following diagnosis has to be ruled out...
-chronic bronchitis
-bronchiolitis
-asthma or allergic infection if wheezing and dyspnea associated
-TB if weight loss and fever
-atypical pneumonia if fever

Here mostly it would be chronic bronchitis.
Investigations useful like....
-chest xray
-sputum. Examination

If needed here antibiotic given like cefpodoxime....
Avoid smoking.
Try to keep environmental pollution exposure less....

One tsp ginger juice and honey useful.

If still cause not clear pulmonary function test done....

If dry cough troublesome then dextromethorphan like antitussive given.

Hope your concern solved.

Discuss these with pulmonologist while consulting.
