How To Differentiate Between Implantation Bleeding And Periods?
Hi. I'm 6 days late from my scheduled period. This morning I finally had my period and I think I can be relieved that I'm not pregnant, but I also heard about a thing named implantation bleeding that occurs during pregnancy and can happen when your period is due. I might become paranoid because I think today's blood is kind of light. How do you differ between period blood and pregnancy blood? Thanks. And sorry for the bad English, it's not my native language and I'm kinda panicking right now.
Hello there, I can understand your concern. The only way to confirm if you are pregnant or not is by doing a urine pregnancy test. Yes many women have implantation bleeding which is usually very light and only like spotting. Rarely there may be frank blood. But it is not possible to differentiate between period blood and implantation bleed by looking at it. If you get a frank bleed like a normal period then it is unlikely that you are pregnant. But why to worry rather I would suggest get the home urine pregnancy test and find out for yourself. Sometimes when there is delay in periods one may get light spotting at the beginning of period followed by a proper period. Hope this helps. Take care.
