How To Determine The Date Of Conception?

I had sex with my ex for the last time on 19 July 2016, I met a new guy in August and slept with him during the week 8-12 Aug 2016, my first ultrasound indicated an expected due date of 14 May 2016 this was done on 04 Oct 2016, I went for a 3D scan on 01 Dec 2016 which said I was 19 weeks and 3 days along with an expected due date of 24 April 2017, when did I then concieve, in July or August?

Hi,

It is not possible to precisely say on which date you could have conceived. Provided the cycle is normal with 28 days, the ovulation would take place around 13th day. In case fertilization happens around this day, it takes about a week to ten days for the fertilized ovum to get implanted.

You need to consider last menstrual period (LMP) for calculation of gestational age. Ultrasound reports which suggest expected date of delivery (EDD) could vary by +/- 1 week to 10 days. You could roughly know which month you could have conceived by subtracting the number of weeks as indicated by your present ultrasound report.

Hope the information provided would be helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further. All the best.
