How To Cure Discomfort In Bowels?

my boyfriend is a diabetic and is 63 yrs old he gose to a health clinic for his check ups and meds for the diabetics but he has problems with his bowels sametimes go goses for weeks to 2 weeks and I try to ask him to keep up with it when I spoke with one of the doctor before at the clinic he gose to he said that I could give him some fiber such has metamucla or benifiber. I take benifber every day and I donot have any issues what can I do to help him . I also told him that he needs to drink more water and eat more fiber

Yes, Metamucil should help him.
He can try one of the different laxatives like Cremaffin plus, picosulphate, high fiber diet, Isabgulla husk and so on and to continue with the one that helps him the best.
Yes, high fiber diet, plenty of oral fluids and so on do help in resolution of such a condition.
He should also avoid all the foods and beverages that cause him constipation.
