How To Cure ADHD Disorder?

my son aged 19 yrs was diagnosed with ADDH disorder at 4 yrs. All thru school unless i sat with him he would never show any interest in studies. Also he tends to do something impulsively without thinking about the consequences. otherwise he is very loving and caring. recently we found that he is spending 200/- to 300/- per week only on mobile recharges and caller tunes. On enquring from outside and well as questioning him we dont understand why he is always in need of money. After thorough enquiry he does not seem to have and bad habits such as smoking drinking or drugs etc., He had failed in 12th class CBSE pattern so we shifted him to state board this year. Another imp point is he is a very good cricketer and is playing for CG state board tournaments. Last year he performed exceptionally well but this year his score was not upto the mark. His father himself a good cricketer takes personal interest in his coaching and performance. Lately he seems to be disoriented in his thinking. On repeated questioning he does not seem to open up and talk to us. As he is an only child and both of us are working we are at a wits end how to handle him. Kindly advise.

Hi, thanks for asking.
I can understand your concerns.
I would like to know if your son is on any medications. If not then I would suggest you put him on medications for ADHD. It will control him impulsive behaviour and attention.
He would also benefit from psychological counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy.
I would suggest you talk to him calmly with out being judgemental about his problems, then he will probably open up to you. Ask him about his expenditures and talk to him about finances.
You will have to be patient.
I hope I have helped you.
Thank you.
