Hi,

If the ENT specialist was unable to remove the jeweled decoration from your child's nose, it's important to seek further medical attention. The object may have moved further up into the nasal passage or could have been accidentally pushed into the airway. If your child is experiencing any difficulty breathing, coughing, wheezing, or chest pain, you should seek emergency medical attention immediately.

If your child is not experiencing any respiratory distress, you may need to schedule an appointment for imaging tests such as an x-ray, CT scan, or MRI to determine the location of the object. This will help guide further treatment.

In the meantime, try to keep your child calm and comfortable, and discourage them from picking at their nose or blowing their nose forcefully, as this could cause the object to move further up into the nasal passage. It's important to continue to seek medical attention until the object is safely removed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

General & Family Physician Dr. Priyanka's  Response
Hi,

If the ENT specialist was unable to remove the jeweled decoration, they may recommend further imaging such as X-rays or a CT scan to determine if the object is still in the nose or if it has been aspirated into the lungs.

It is important to follow up with the ENT specialist to ensure the object is located and removed safely. If there are any concerns about breathing difficulties or other symptoms, seek immediate medical attention. In the meantime, try to keep your child calm and discourage them from further inserting objects into their nose.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
