How To Avoid Breakthrough Bleeding While On Contraceptive Pill?

I started orsythia birth control pills 2 weeks ago I took my pill late the other day then forgot the next day so I took two after that and now I have breakthrough bleeding. I m going home on leave in 10 days to see my boyfriend and I don t want to have my period is there a way to stop taking the pill? If I do will my period come right away? How long will it last? Should I just keep taking them or stop to have better chances of not bleeding on my vacation

Hello,

I think you can continue progesterone pills since 10 days before period and continue it for 10-14 days. When you stop it the period will come after 7 days.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
