How Soon Can I Take UPT Inspite Of Having Delayed Period?

Hi I have been trying to conceive for the past few months now. I have had regular sex in my fertile week and on ovulation date this month. I am due on my peroid on Friday. I had cramps and back ach last night and when I went to the loo today I noticed a small pin prick of blood on my tissue and it hasn t returned since. I then taken a pregnancy test and wag negative. Is this too early for the result. I have never experienced this before as I useualy get brown dishcharge a day before my peroid. And I have been pregnant in the past so I was just wondering is it the peroid or could it be what is called im platoon bleeding. I m confused because the test said negative today and I m not due on till Friday and never had this before ? Thanks.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Urine pregnancy test (UPT) comes out to be positive 10-14 days after conception.
The UPT becomes positive after implantation of fertilized ovum.
Implantation occurs approximately 6 days after conception.
implantation can be accompanied by slight bleeding, abdominal cramps, breast tenderness, lower back ache etc.
The symptoms that you have mentioned can be due to implantation or they can be due to pre-menstrual syndrome.
You can wait for your periods and take up UPT 10-14 days after your expected day of ovulation.
