How Soon Can HIV Infection Be Diagnosed After A Possible Exposure?

Hi madam this is krishna. I had a sex with an unknown girl.. But i was safe at that time by wearing condom no slippage and no breakage.. But i did fingering into her vagina with my two fingers.. I did for 1 min and then i took out.. After three minutes i mastrubate with the same finger. Does this will cause HIV???? I did HIV RNA PCR TEST after 16 days to the exposure it came back TARGET NOT DETECTED .. And after 49 days (7weeks) I did the ANTI HIV AB/AG. It came back as NON REACTIVE (0.07 ).. Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Don't worry, If the result is negative three months after exposure your result is interpreted as negative. This assumes you have had no further risks.

HIV RNA PCR works from 7-10 days after exposure it is 99.89% accurate.

Antibody test after 12 weeks of exposure it is 99.97% accurate.

Antigen test p24 4-6 weeks of exposure it is 99.8% accurate.

So you don't have HIV be happy.

Take care.
