Hello,
Bumps under the tongue are commonly treated with an injection of
interferon, alfa-2B. The treating physician may recommend
cryotherapy or surgery, whatever is best for you. Before that your treating physician may take a biopsy of the bumps to rule out chances of malignancy. Avoid smoking, deep kissing, not using proper protection before oral sex, having multiple partners, sharing utensils and cups, etc.
Having
sore throat,
hoarseness, jaw pain, earache, unexplained loss of weigh, etc., may be indicative of a pre-cancerous condition of HPV positive oropharyngeal
oral cancer. Get it clinically examined by an ENT, your treatment will depend on the diagnosis made. You will be treated with antivirals / antibiotics and analgesics/NSAIDS, etc.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
