Hi..

A big bump at the anal orifice or the butt hole that is painful to touch along with difficulty in smooth bowel movements is pointing towards Hemorrhoid or piles..

Hemorrhoids are inflamed and swollen veins that are formed when there is continuous irritation of the veins present in the rectum area and inflammation can lead to pain and bleeding during bowel evacuation..

Consult a Proctologist or a General Physician and get evaluated and a clinical examination is generally sufficient to diagnose external Hemorrhoid.

In case if piles is confirmed then you can be advised:
-Application of steroid and numbing ointment like Anovate ointment 2-3 times a day can help..
-Sitz bath that is sitting in warm water tub especially after bowels....
-High fiber diet along with laxatives like Polyethylene glycol and stool softeners like Docusate to maintain proper bowels..
-Avoid spicy food and drink plenty of water..

Being active and doing regular exercise and drinking plenty of water can also help in reducing constipation..

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora,
