Hello thanks for asking from HCM

Cymbalta is Duloxetine and the drug belongs to SNRI group of antidepressants and anti-anxiety drugs. You had anxiety attacks and depression and are given 60 mg of Cymbalta. Now coming to your questions-

- Yes its safe to use cymbalta in depression. The drug may cause slight sedation, somnolence, dizziness, nausea etc side effects but it is safe to use.

- The duration of treatment depends upon episodes and severity. Normal natural course of a depressive episode last for bout 4-6 months. If proper treatment is taken individuals start showing response in about 4 weeks but treatment should be given for at least 6 monhts.

- Yes cymbalta is a good medicine. Other medicines that are used are Fluoxetine, Paroxetine etc of SSRI class.

Thanks, hope this solves your query.
