How Long Will Travel Sickness Last In Children?

We flew from Perth, Australia to Dallas, Texas on Monday (19hrs of flying in total). Our 4 yr old was sick on the flight which I m assuming was travel sickness. She was fine the first night and ate dinner as normal. The next morning she was sick 3 times and then seemed fine from about 3pm onwards. Again she ate dinner but the next morning (today) she has been sick again. She has been sick about 4 times today and very sleepy. She hasn t been sick since 3:30pm. I have been giving her water and pediatric electrolyte in small amounts. Could she be experiencing jet lag? Should I be taking her to see a doctor if she is still the same tomorrow?

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. Its very unusual for travel sickness to last so long and I agree with your idea of jet lag regarding excessive sleepiness but not for vomiting. She might be going through a prodrome of acute watery diarrhoea where in the diarrhoea will be preceded by vomiting. I suggest you use antiemetic and if not better in 4-6 hours, kindly consult a paediatrician. Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
