How Long Will It Take To Recover From A Head Injury?

Last Friday night I fell on the ice after I had been drinking. I was taken to the ER and they put 5 staples in the back of my head. Its been 5 days, and I still feel dizzy and exausted. I continue to use ice to keep the pressure of swelling down. I am wonder how long it may take before I can get back to some normal functions like work. I am self employed and can do alot from home, but hate not going in to my office.

After head injury, it is very common to have headaches for couple of weeks or sometimes even longer. It is mainly due to post trauma which causes brain concussion.

I would suggest you to wait for few days and probably your headache should go away. If doesn't go then better to consult your doctor and get it evaluated. Wish you speedy recovery.
