How Long Will It Take To Heal Post Rhinoplasty Procedure?

I m looking to get a rhinoplasty procedure done, but my biggest concern is that I play volleyball year round and the only time I have off is about 2 months in the summer until the season starts up again. About how long can you estimate that i will not be able to play while healing?

Hello,

Welcome to Health Care Magic.
Thanks for writing.

I am Dr.Saddiq-ul-Abidin. I have read your question completely, I understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.

Its good to know that you are athlete and much concerned about your sport. You are getting rhinoplasty i suppose it must be for some septal issues, may be a DNS.

Rhiniplasty these days is quite advances its post op results and recovery time is better than ever these days. 2 months is good enough a time for the rhinoplasty to heal. All you will have to do after the operation is to take good care and protect the nose from a hit / trauma during your season.

I would suggest you to get in contact with your doctor and schedule your surgery preferably in the first week of your 2months vacations, this will give you about 6-7 weeks to heal up , although rhinoplasty takes about 10-15 days to heal depending upon the extent of surgery but still as you are intending to play sports afterwards so more the time it gets before the season, more stable and strong will your nose be during the season.

This will the be less prone to any injuries or infections, don't worry and go for the surgery as early in those 2 months as possible. Even a month is good enough for a rhinoplasty to heal but try to get as many healing days before the season as possible.

I hope this answered your question. If you have more queries I am happy to answer.Otherwise rate and close the discussion
