How Long Will It Take For Child To Get Cured Of Viral Fever?

my5year old child have cold cough and fever for last 5days .we consult the pediatrican he said because of viral feaver.but we are worried because the fever is not completly goen. how many days to cure viral feaver anyother

test is needed.

Hello. Thank you for your question. Viruses typically last 7-10 days. They usually worsen over the first 3-4 days, stay at the peak for 3-4 days, and resolve over 3-4 days. The fevers can progress the same way so it is probably premature to be concerned about something else. however, if the fever persists beyond 1 week, or new symptoms emerge, I recommend getting rechecked by your pediatrician.
